WHY STUDYNOW.CA?

Our expertise in education comes from the rich experience of running an international high school, Toronto International Academy, since 2004 in Ontario, Canada. Our faculty consists of qualified teachers with OCT (Ontario Certified Teacher), many of whom are registered under the StudyNow.CA tutor listings. StudyNow.CA strives to utilize our expertise and professionalism in high school education to support students who are looking for academic help.

 

Our instructors are highly qualified teachers who hold OCT (Ontario Certified Teacher), Master’s degree, or equivalent. They have been filtered out by their proven record and experience in the teaching field.

HOW TO REGISTER

You can register for one-hour sessions, or a series of hours with one or more instructors. If you would like to change instructors, or if you would like to study different subjects, you can. Try reading over the user guide for further assistance.

HOW TO MAKE A PAYMENT AND WHAT IS REFURN/CANCELLATION POLICY?

You can pay by credit/debit (Visa/Master Card) cards or via PayPal in our system. Try reading over the user guide for further explanation.

A refund can be issued with a 24-hour notice, if you are unable to make it to class due to unexpected circumstances. However, we encourage our students to re-schedule to maintain consistency of your study. Please note that there is no refund for classes that are missed without a 24-hour notice.

HOW CAN I CHOOSE THE RIGHT TUTOR?

Your tutors all seem qualified, and I am not sure whom to choose from. Can you choose the right tutor for me?

We can find the best matching instructor for you. Please feel free to email us at info@studynow.ca what subjects or areas you need to work on prior to your planned lessons.


What if I am not satisfied with the instructor?

We are confident that all our instructors are at the top of their field. However, if you are not satisfied with the teaching method or with the instructor, we will either find another instructor for you or refund you the tuition.

HOW CAN I REBOOK A SESSION?

What happens if I miss a scheduled lesson?

We will send you a notification email prior to your lesson, and it is your responsibility to be on time. If you miss your class, there will unfortunately be no refund for the class; so please keep your schedule on your calendar so that you do not miss any classes.



My classes did not happen due to the teacher's absence. What should I do?

If your lesson does not take place for such reason, we will provide a full refund, or we will provide a replacement instructor of your choice. You can send your problems to our Customer Support Service at info@studynow.ca.



Can I book a lesson within the next 24 hours?

Our tutors may need time up to 24 hours in order to respond to your booking. However, if you need immediate assistance, please contact us through info@studynow.ca or call us at 1-905-615-8008. We will try our best to connect you to a tutor who's available as soon as possible.

HOW DO I LEAVE A REVIEW?

Your opinions are very important to us. Reviews should be used for the sole purpose of informing customers of your view of the service and the quality of our instructors and resources. Please send your review to info@studynow.ca. We will not alter or change your review as long as it meets the criteria of our review policy.

FOR INSTRUCTORS

WHY STUDYNOW.CA? HOW CAN I MANAGE MY OWN SCHEDULE?

We provide exceptionally high-quality tutoring services relative to other agencies in the world. If you are passionate about sharing your expertise with young students, we can provide the opportunity to connect with keen learners and widen your audience.


You can manage your own time to deliver lessons at your convenience via conferencing platform (Zoom, Skype, Google Hangouts, etc). However, we would recommend making your chosen setting suitable and presentable for your lessons.

I AM INTERESTED! WHAT SHOUD I DO TO APPLY?

We would like to have professional instructors who enjoy sharing their knowledge and passion with our students in a friendly and caring environment. We prefer to work with OCT-certified teachers for curriculum-related subjects like English, Math and Science. However, some programs may not require certification. If you are a qualified instructor with a proven record from a school board or other reputable institutions in teaching ESL, IELTS or SAT, we would like to work with you. To apply, please send your resume to info@studynow.ca. Once we consider you as one of the candidates, we will conduct an Online Interview with you. Upon hiring, we would ask you to submit a criminal record check and an introductory video outlining your professional background and your teaching methods.

 

DO YOU HELP ME FIND STUDENTS?

Most of the students on StudyNow will find tutors on their own. Some students, however, may not know which tutor to choose from. In these cases, StudyNow will help pair them with the best matching tutor.

 

ARE THERE ANY GUIDELINES FOR EACH LESSON SUCH AS HOMEWORK, ASSIGNMENTS ETC.?

It is most probable that you will be helping students out with their assignments or homework from school. Depending on the situation, however, you may choose to give your students extra homework of your own if you deem that the student can complete it. This would be most useful if you have a student whom you teach on a consistent basis.

WHAT IS CANCELLATION POLICY?

A STUDENT DID NOT SHOW UP FOR THE LESSON. AM I STILL ENTITLED TO GET PAID?

If a student does not come to your scheduled lesson (without a 24-hour notice), you will receive 50% of the lesson fee.


WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I WON’T BE ABLE TO GIVE THE PLANNED LESSON DUE TO MY PERSONAL SITUATIONS?

You should inform your student(s) as soon as possible (with a 24-hour notice) and reschedule the lesson to the nearest available date and time.


HOW DO I REPORT AN ISSUE WITH MY LESSON?

WHAT ARE “FIRST LESSON” AND “VALUE PACK”? ARE THEY NECESSARY?

FIRST LESSON

Some instructors use their first session with a new student for assessment and introduction. The students can also use this opportunity to get to know their instructor and to build a mutual understanding of where the student needs help with. Generally, the first session is priced at 50%-60% of your usual tutor session. As a tutor, you are free to provide "first session" and use it as a promotional opportunity, but it is not mandatory.

 

VALUE PACK

Value Pack is for students who wishes to take lessons continuously with you. For example, you can offer a Value Pack of $200 for 5 lessons, and once the purchase has been made, arrange the next 5 lesson schedule with your student together. You are at your own discretion to utilize this function.
